It is a wonderful sign of winter in the northern lands to see maple buckets out on the trees. What's interesting about this photo is that this was shot in the center of my little town. You usually think of maple sugaring going on in forests, with guys in plaid flannel jackets roaming snowdrifts to collect the syrup.
Look how green that grass is. Cold? Yes. But no snow.
